Pepper Container is our Docker technology-based Pepper solution. It has been developed specifically for mobile (thin clients) and cloud-based EFT/POS structures.

The universal interface makes it easy to connect over 100 different POS terminals.

What IT environment has Pepper Container been developed for?

Pepper Container, which is based on Docker technology, has been specifically developed for the use of thin clients (smartphones or tablets with cash register apps) and is also ideally suited to use in a cloud-based cash register infrastructure.

In principle, different network infrastructures are possible here: The software only needs one central server, which is then linked to multiple Containers from private networks.

By the way …

  • Pepper Container allows you to connect one or more POS terminals to one or more Containers.
  • However, to ensure optimal functionality, we recommend that you use one Container per POS terminal: this means that if one terminal fails, all of your remaining terminals will continue to function, guaranteeing smooth operation.

Which OS is Pepper Container compatible with?

Whether you use Microsoft, Android or iOS, the underlying Docker technology makes Pepper Container independent from the cash register’s operating system, meaning that Pepper Container works across all systems.

The central server should be running a Windows or Linux (x86, ARM) operating system.

How implementation works

In order to integrate Pepper Container into your cash register software, you must first download the developer document and a free trial license from the Pepper Developer Portal. You also need the Pepper Container Image, which can be found on the Docker Hub.

After installing the image, carry out the integration into your cash register software according to the developer documentation.

Should you require assistance, you can also book our Integration Support Service, where a treibauf Developer will personally walk you through the implementation process.

Once you have integrated the Pepper Container into your cash register software, you can start by checking whether you have seamless communication with the POS terminal, free of charge.

Once everything is up and running, all you have to do is order your product licenses for permanent use and sign a usage agreement with treibauf.

Take advantage of the free Pepper Container trial license

The Pepper Developer Portal provides you with all of the documents you need for a no-obligation trial of Pepper Container within your own IT environment.

  • Pepper Docker Image
  • Pepper developer documentation
  • Detailed instructions for implementation
  • Documentation regarding all communication protocols integrated into Pepper

The Pepper Container licensing model

Our Rent model offers you maximum flexibility. This is because the rent, which can be cancelled on a month-to-month basis, includes all of the communication protocols supported by Pepper. This means that you will not incur any additional costs if you change your POS terminal.
