Why a precise fit counts at Mister Minit

The starting point: New software needed to import payments and automate posting!

Despite all the enthusiasm for the Swiss Army knife: you don’t always need a tool that can do everything. Sometimes you just need precisely the right solution.

Mister Minit is the leading supplier of instant services relating to keys, shoe repairs and personalisation services in Switzerland. With around 100,000 electronic transactions a year to be completed on average in 22 service branches, the Accounting department has long been using an automation solution to import and post the cashless POS payments.

After their old solution was discontinued in 2025 and the provider stopped offering support, Fiora Brugger, Finance Department, and her team were looking for a new tool with exactly the same functionality as the previous solution.

The challenge: To find a perfect-fit solution for automated payment posting

«We were sure: we currently have no need for a comprehensive platform or fully automated payment reconciliation. We’re handling that manually with no problems at the moment», says Fiora Brugger of their starting position.

«Most of the solutions we’d researched initially were too big for us, too complex – and above all too expensive.»

The result: Valuable time saving during posting

What has specifically changed since Matchbox Light has been in use at Minit Switzerland?

«We have to differentiate between two scenarios here», explains Fiora Brugger. «Compared to manual posting of acquirer data, the time saving is obviously enormous. As we were already using an automation solution before, it’s hard for me to quantify this increased efficiency, however. What I can say, though: since we’ve been using Matchbox Light, we’ve had to do far less rectifying compared to the previous solution! So we are saving additional valuable time and resources in Accounting.»
